Justin Sorrell



Justin is a pianist equally at home in both classical and jazz music. He has performed with artists such as Trey Anastasio from Phish, Bob Florence, Wayne Bergeron, Rick Baptist, Gregg Field, Annette Wardell, Emil Richards, Danny Gottlieb, and Sal Lozano.  He is an alumnus of both the prestigious Walt Disney World Collegiate All-Star and Disneyland All-American College Bands, and has performed extensively on cruise ships for Princess Cruises.

In addition to his jazz piano career, he has performed numerous classical piano recitals and concerts, including a live Vermont Public Radio performance of works by Bach and Chopin, and performances of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with the Vermont Youth Orchestra.

As well as being an active pianist, Justin has composed several classical works for solo piano, and he has written and arranged a jazz big band chart, “Mr. Nice Guy” for 11-piece jazz ensemble. His arranging experience also includes arrangements for several ensembles, including his own jazz sextet the Samba Six and the Trey Anastasio Acoustic and Electric Show.

A graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies, Justin is currently pursuing a full-time career in another industry.
